Prior to 2005 the logo was a line drawing of the the original Lady Minto Hospital-the home base of SSI Community Services.
There is still immense pride in the sense of history, caring and stability that this building
represents to the
community. Salt Spring Island Community Services will continue to prize, protect and promote this link
to community history.
The needs of today’s communities have
brought about significant
changes. Services are delivered from locations beyond the main building – from other sites, through mobile outreach, and in the delivery of services to other Southern Gulf Island communities.
The common element and foundation of all our services
remains that of helping people – as individuals, in families, in groups
and communities.
The logo is centered on the image of a heart, which represents the courage, caring, and compassion that gives us our role as the “heart of the community”.
Thank you to Boodie Arnott for the design.
