School Support

School support services include counselling, family support and specific psychosocial interventions for children and youth.

Service is provided to all levels of School District 64 schools (Fernwood Elementary, Salt Spring Elementary, Fulford Elementary, Phoenix Elementary, Salt Spring Island Middle School, Phoenix High and Gulf Islands Secondary School). Counsellors work in schools and the community.

Service is aimed at students aged 5 to 19, and their families, who live on the Southern Gulf Islands and attend school on Salt Spring Island. These students may be experiencing emotional or behavioural issues that limit their ability to function successfully within the school system.

Service is provided in the schools and within the community.

Hours

Service is available during the school year from September to June

9.00am - 4.00 pm Monday to Friday

Service is accessed through the student's school based team.
